Allergy 250K camp for school-aged teens in Adelaide

Now is the time to register for the National Allergy Strategy’s upcoming camp for young people aged 10 – 18 living with severe allergy and at risk of anaphylaxis. All children between these ages and still attending school are invited to participate.

The weekend of adventure will take place approximately 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD and run from Saturday 10 September to Sunday 11 September 2022. Camp is a fantastic opportunity to meet other teens living with severe allergy while experiencing the excitement of camp in a safe and supportive environment. For those who want to dip their toes into the action, there is the option to attend Saturday only.

The camp will be a mixture of fun team outdoor activities (such as giant swing, archery and flying fox) and informative allergy sessions hosted by health professionals. We will provide the complete program just before the camp. In true camp style, accommodation will be dormitories (not tents).

All food allergies will be catered for and at least one allergy dietitian with extensive experience in food allergy will be involved in meal preparation and service during the camp. National Allergy Strategy staff, clinical immunology/allergy specialists and allergy nurses will also attend.

The best part? There is no participation cost as we have received funding from the Australian Government Department of Health  for this initiative. Camp participants do need to make their way to and from the camp on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. If you live outside of South Australia and your child would like to participate, please let us know, as while we cannot fund airfares, your child is still able to participate if you can get them to the campsite.

If you would like to attend, please email the National Allergy Strategy Manager by 22 July 2022,

Places are limited, so please register early.

We look forward to seeing you there!
